Beylikdüzü is one of the western districts of Istanbul. It is bordered by the Sea of Marmara to the south, Avcılar to the east, Büyükçekmece to the west, and Esenyurt to the north. Beylikdüzü is one of the rare districts in Istanbul without squatter settlements. According to research conducted by the municipality, 40% of the residents are university graduates, and the district hosts numerous mass housing projects and luxury residences. Beylikdüzü is one of Istanbul's most cosmopolitan districts, resembling a mosaic of Turkey, and it is also home to a significant number of foreign citizens.

With its wide streets, boulevards, sidewalks, and green spaces, Beylikdüzü represents the new face of planned urbanization in Istanbul. Beylikdüzü continues to become greener.

Since Beylikdüzü is approximately 150 meters above sea level, it has a less humid, clean, and windy climate compared to the central districts of Istanbul, and the winters are harsh. The seasonal transitions in almost every neighborhood of Beylikdüzü turn into a visual feast.

Transportation in Beylikdüzü has eased with the extension of the Metrobus line to the district. It is possible to reach Beylikdüzü 24 hours a day by Metrobus. The journey between Beylikdüzü and Zincirlikuyu by Metrobus takes approximately 60 minutes. Besides the Metrobus, express buses from Taksim also operate to the district.

The economy of Beylikdüzü is mainly based on industry and commerce. The district is home to Ambarlı Port, the largest container port in Turkey. Ambarlı Port is among the top 50 largest container ports in the world. The Fuel Filling and Distribution Facilities and Thermal Power Plant located to the east of Ambarlı Port hold significant importance in the district's economy.

West Istanbul Marina has been added next to Ambarlı Port. Under the umbrella of Beylikdüzü Organized Industrial Zone, Birlik Industrial Site, Bakircilar Industrial Site, Mermerciler Industrial Site, and Beysan Industrial Site constitute the industrial sector of the district's economy. The Arçelik factory is located in the Beykent area of Beylikdüzü. Beekeeping is carried out as an agricultural activity in the district, while fishing is an important source of livelihood in the Gürpınar area.

The population of Beylikdüzü district is 409,347.
