Bağcılar, which is formed by the merger of Mahmutbey, Bağcılar, and Kirazlı villages, as well as the Papasköy farm, is one of Istanbul's older settlements. Located on the European side of Istanbul between the TEM and E-5 highways, Bağcılar is neighboring the districts of Küçükçekmece, Bahçelievler, Güngören, Başakşehir, and Esenler. With its developed rail systems, it holds a significant position providing access to many parts of Istanbul. Despite being one of Istanbul's newer districts, it has quickly gained social and cultural amenities. Bağcılar's neighborhoods now feature swimming pools, cultural centers, knowledge houses, parks, and gardens. Since its establishment, Bağcılar Municipality has become a pioneering institution in many areas through the services it provides.
The population of our Bağcılar district is 719,071.
